The OddFellas, South Texas Underground Film Festival, The Blind Owls, Corpus Christi Songwriters Showcase

Corpus Christi band The OddFellas are makers of music, creators of sound and fellas of odd. The OddFellas, with their own take on rock and soul, play Wednesday at House of Rock starting at 9 p.m. On Wednesdays, HOR has ¬†delicious appetizers at half price, domestics going for $2.50 and of course the Fellas we’ll be bringing all your favorite songs with just a touch of Odd!

Opening night of the South Texas Underground Film Festival will take place Thursday at House of Rock. STUFF, a four-day international film festival is free and is put on by South Texas Underground Film. The event begins with Escalators (France) from 6-7 p.m., Under a Kaleidoscope (Australia) 7-8:30, Strange Places (U.S.) 8:30-9:30, seven film shorts from 9:30-10:30, Fugue (U.S.) from 10:30-midnight and another six film shorts from midnight to 1 a.m.

The Blind Owls bang out authentic rock ‘n’ roll with passion in each performance. The four-piece Corpus Christi band returns to House of Rock on Friday. Doors are at 9 p.m. The¬†’60s-inspired rockers are well-dressed, energetic and bring raw power to their shows. Inspired by Elvis and The Beatles, the band released its debut album “All Day and Night” earlier this year.
The final Corpus Christi Songwriters Showcase for 2016 will take place on the main stage of House of Rock on Sunday featuring the Rev. Fred Cook and Steven James and The Jaded. Founded in 2014, CC Songwriters hosts several events throughout the year — including In the rounds (an open stage for original music) the second Sunday of every month at House of Rock The format is simple: each songwriter is allowed to perform two songs (they can be new songs, or old songs, but they must be original songs). Once everyone has shared their songs, stories and inspirations behind them, the cycle will begin again.
