Resinated, The Art of Living, After Dark Revue and Flatbroke
Florida reggae/dance band Resinated stops by House of Rock on Thursday during the Texas swing of its latest tour. Joining them are Tunnel Vision and BKWDS-FWDS. Doors are at 8 p.m. Building a large fanbase of “Resonators,” Resinated visits a group of genres including pop, soul, funk, reggae, alternative and jam. The group’s latest album is 2015’s “Smoke Signals.”
More than 30 artists have contributed pieces to be auctioned Friday in a benefit for The American Cancer Society at House Rock. The Art of Living, a live auction of original artwork of various mediums, takes place during the First Friday Art Walk festivities. Doors are at 5:30. Live auction begins at 9 p.m.
It’s hard to believe After Dark Revue has been producing the finest local burlesque shows for 10 years now. The troupe and special guests present X: Ten Years of Glitter, Garters and Tease on Saturday at House of Rock. The show features Maye Applebottom, Rosie Rawhyde, Suzi Hotsake, Lola von Deadly, Miss Kitty No Pity, Chola Magnolia, J.D.
Hickcock, Eve Vocative, Honey Cocoa Bordeauxx, Double Down Dixie, Honey Hula La, Pixie O’Kneel, Chanel St. Sin, Queertini Time, Honey Moonpie and Moxie Tocin. Flatbroke returns to the House of Rock stage for a free Sunday show during the Labor Day weekend. The alternative/reggae/roots band has been truckin’ since 2005 and demonstrating that Flatbroke is not just a name but also a way of life.
