Thommy Nekro, Comida and Nancy Silva Project
Thommy Nekro’s The Solanum is growing to be a force to be reckoned with in Texas, blending elements of horrorcore, rap, metal, industrial and goth styles all into his own. His “infection,” which has been spreading nationwide with several past tours, comes to House of Rock on Thursday. Thommy Nekro will be joined by Split Beliefs and Rob Zilla. Doors are at 7.
Comida will provide a feast for the eyes, ears and taste Friday at House of Rock. Comida, an art show hosted by Omar Arellano, will celebrate the release of his photo journal “Comida Radio.” Comida is local art, music and food. Donations for The Garcia Arts and Education Center will be accepted and art supplies will be collected for their after school programs. Chicas Rock also will also have a registration for their fall semester. Participating artists include Omar Arellano, Aaron Lopez, Brandon Benavides, Mayra Zamora, David VisualChef Galvan, Caleb Bass, Elijah Soliz, Alex Chapa, Herman Martinez, Raul Alonzo, Ollie Omega Segovia, Israel Luna, Roque DeLeon, Aaron Rodriguez and Malachi McKinney. Music is by Gio Chamba and Coffee Guzman, Kng John, DJ Act Badd, Príncipe Q and Keeps.
San Antonio alternative rockers Nancy Silva Project return to House of Rock on Saturday. They’ll be joined by The Mystics and Smash Decadence. Doors are at 8 p.m. Flying under the radar, the Nancy Silva Project, headed by the guitar-slinging, songwriting San Antonio-bred talent Nancy Silva, has a sultry, seductive and brooding appearance that is met with a surprising shyness. And the group flat-out rocks.
