Spring Break week with Escape the Fate, I See Stars, Beard on the Bay
C101 presents Escape The Fate with New Years Day on Thursday at House of Rock. They’ll be joined by Wrath Upon the Skies and A Winter Alive. Doors are at 7 p.m. The Las Vegas post-hardcore rockers produce anthems with big rock hooks and boisterous guitars. The group followed 2013’s “Ungrateful” with “Hate Me” last year.
I See Stars stops by House of Rock on Friday during its Light in the Cave Tour. The group will be joined by Chunk No Captain Chunk (emo-punk metal from France)
Get Scared, Palaye Royal and A Means to an End. Doors are at 6 p.m. The electronic hardcore musicians released the acoustic “Phases” in 2015 and plan to release a followup returning to its familiar sounds later this year.
C.C. Hairy Hooligans and the House of Rock present Beards by the Bay on Saturday at House of Rock. Doors open at 4 p.m. The beard competition is $20 (register online at www.texashouseofrock.com) and $5 for each additional category. Beard categories are: kids funny facial hair, best goatee, best mustache, whiskerinas (women’s), full beard 6 inches and under, full beard 6 inches and over, full beard a foot-plus, freestyle beard and overall best in show/crowd favorite.
The all-ages event is free for spectators. Flatbroke will play from 5-6 p.m.
San Antonio rockers The Heroine will be playing Saturday’s Beards by the Bay after show party at House of Rock. They’ll be joined by Of Serpents and Saviors (Corpus Christi metal band) and The Highest Control. Doors are at 9 p.m.
The Heroine brings soulful Southern rock ‘n’ roll with its high-energy performances.
