Rockabilly, Pink Floyd and more on the horizon
Three Bad Jacks returns Thursday to House of Rock with a chance to show off its depth and versatility. The Los Angeles trio will be be joined by The Stingrays and Buddy T. Y Los Chingons. Doors are at 9 p.m. Originally formed as a hard-hitting rockabilly/psychobilly band, the group’s release of “Pictures and Memories From Home” has expanded the repertoire to ballads and blues. But have no fear, the band still maintains it’s throbbing gutbucket bottom end and bandleader Elvis Suissa’s passionate vocals while navigating the broader musical spectrum.
Peace & Quiet comes home for a show Friday at House of Rock. Doors are at 9:30 p.m. They’ll be joined by Silver Blueberry (psychedelic/garage/punk) and Hilltop. Peace & Quiet began as a project of songwriters Jeremy Delgado and Vic Benys when they were writing songs together as a duo performing mostly for friends and family. After forming a full band in in Corpus Christi, the group has been riding their wave of indie/psychedelic rock, which has taken them to a new home base in Austin.
Any Colour You Like returns Saturday to House of Rock to paint a pretty accurate picture of Pink Floyd. The tribute band, named after the “Dark Side of the Moon” track, touches on all the intricate details of the original music while allowing room for the group’s own artistic flourishes. Doors open at 9 p.m.
